Statement

I create art to inspire wonder, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world around us — from moss-covered forests and tidepools to crows perched in cedar branches and the quiet magic hidden in ordinary moments.

Through my work, I hope to nurture empathy for all creatures great and small and encourage a return to that childhood place of imagination, curiosity, and storytelling.

I want my art to feel like a pause. A moment to slow down and notice. To look a little closer and a little longer at a world that is often rushed past unnoticed. I hope that when you view my work, you see not only images, but stories, personality, atmosphere, and wonder.

The Pacific Northwest deeply shapes my creative process — rainy days, fog drifting through evergreen forests, sea kelp tangled along rocky shorelines, mountain silhouettes, ferry crossings, and the soft gray light that makes this region feel both grounded and slightly mysterious.

I primarily work in ink, watercolor, and colored pencil, though one of my favorite tools is still the humble ballpoint pen found forgotten in kitchen drawers and coat pockets.

Most pieces begin without a fixed plan. I allow curiosity, intuition, and exploration to guide the process until the work slowly reveals itself. Creating art gives me permission to embrace uncertainty — to begin with a mess, follow the unknown, and discover something unexpected along the way.

I hope my work inspires you to wander outdoors, pay attention to the small details, and reconnect with your own sense of wonder, creativity, and play.
